Some Hollister yards are gardens first — roses along the fence, a fruit tree in the back corner, a strip of lawn in the middle holding it all together. Gardens of Santa Teresa tends that middle: mowing to an even height, edging where grass meets planting bed, cutting shrubs back before they crowd the path.
