About Engles Tractor

West of town the parcels open up — two acres, five acres, ten — and by May the winter's grass has gone tall and gold across every one of them. Engles Tractor works at that scale: tractor mowing and discing, lot clearing, weed abatement, the wide ground no push mower was ever meant to see. There is a particular satisfaction in the pass-by-pass geometry of it, a field turning from tangle to clean rows in the mirror behind you. Smaller yard work — mowing, trimming, general cleanup — fills out the week closer in. Hesperia and its neighbors have a great deal of dirt that wants managing, and it is decent work to be the one who manages it.
