In October the Santa Anas come down through the San Jacinto Valley and rearrange everything a yard has been holding onto — leaves off the ash trees, dust across State Street, palm fronds in the middle of the lawn. Cano Landscaping shows up after weather like that and puts the place back together: raking out, hauling off, cutting the grass back to an even plane, resetting the edges where the wind blurred them. The rest of the year the work is quieter and just as steady, with mowing and trimming, weed control in the beds, and feeding to keep the turf thick. A Hemet yard is a small piece of ground that answers directly to how it is treated. Treated well, it looks composed on the windiest afternoon of the fall.
