Lawnmower Man

About Lawnmower Man

There's a moment when the first pass of a mower crosses an overgrown Hanford lawn and lays down one clean stripe of everything the yard is about to become. Lawnmower Man works for that moment and the twenty passes after it — even height, straight rows, edges cut in tight at the concrete, string trimmer for whatever the deck can't reach, and the walks blown clear at the end. Under a valley midday it's hot, loud, dusty work with an immediate and undeniable result. You can stand at the curb and see exactly what an hour bought. Not many jobs are that honest about themselves.
