About Tree Walker Inc.

Spring on Deer Creek is loud: the water up, the ground soft, everything green at once and growing faster than anyone planned for. That is the stretch when Tree Walker Inc. runs hardest, mowing the first flush, trimming back what has crept over the walkways, and pulling the winter's litter out from under the shrubs. Between Grass Valley and the Nevada City line the lots run narrow and steep, and a crew learns each one's turns by the second visit. The satisfaction is simple: pull up to a yard that has gotten ahead of itself and leave it level, edged and easy on the eye. Then come back next week, because by May it has all grown in again.
