About Charlie The Trencher

Snow can reach all the way to the canyon floor at Goodyears Bar in deep winter, and when spring finally loosens its grip, meltwater roars through every gully and the first new grass pushes up through last year's needles. Charlie The Trencher handles yard and lawn work around this remote Sierra County settlement, getting yards back in order after the long cold months. That means a first mowing, trimming the edges back into shape, and raking out the branches and debris that winter storms left behind. Watching a yard come back from under the snow, clean and green, is one of the finest rewards of the season. It is fresh-start work in a place that earns every spring.
