About ACME (All Care Maintenance Enterprise)

Gerber grew up on the railroad, a little grid of streets set near the Sacramento River in the wide, hot north end of the valley. ACME — All Care Maintenance Enterprise — takes the middle of its name seriously, handling the mowing, trimming, and cleanups that keep those streets looking lived-in and loved. Summer here shimmers; the cottonwoods along the river hold the only easy shade, and lawn work starts at first light to stay ahead of the heat. Winter brings fog off the river and a slower kind of green. Through both, the routine holds: blades sharp, edges clean, yards squared away like a freight schedule — everything where it belongs, on time.
