About Chavez Landscaping

Down in Niles, where the canyon lets the creek out onto the flatland and the old brick storefronts face the tracks, yards run narrow and deep. Chavez Landscaping works them one at a time — mowing to an even nap, shaping hedges back off the fence line, pulling the weeds that come up thick after a wet week. Alameda Creek carries the winter runoff past town and the whole valley greens for a few months; the trick is keeping a lawn honest once the hills fade back to tan by May. Seasonal cleanups clear the leaf drop, feeding and overseeding fill the thin spots, and the sprinklers get checked before the heat asks anything of them. What the neighbors notice is the edge along the sidewalk, straight as the rail line.
