About Salen's Landscaping Incorporated

East of town the road runs out toward Sheldon and Wilton, where the open grass goes the color of straw by June and stays that way until the rains return. Against all that dry gold a watered lawn reads like a small act of defiance, and Salen's Landscaping Incorporated keeps a lot of them going. The routine is steady: mowing and edging on schedule, trimming around fence posts and mailboxes, hedge work, weeds pulled from the beds, and cleanups when the season turns over. Sprinkler heads get a look while the crew is on the property, because out in this valley the difference between a green yard and a brown one is usually one clogged head nobody noticed. The work is unglamorous and the result is not — a deep, even lawn standing at the end of a long dry summer.
