About Tailored Tree Inc.

The oaks came first. Long before the subdivisions climbed the slopes of El Dorado Hills, blue oaks and interior live oaks stood scattered across this ground, and many of them still shade the driveways and back lots that were built around them. Tailored Tree Inc. tends those trees and the ones planted since — pruning and crown thinning so wind moves through instead of against, clearing deadwood, opening structure on young ornamentals and fruit trees, and taking down what is past saving. Winter is the season that tests the work, when storms come up the canyon of the South Fork and the wet ground gives up a limb, or a whole leaning trunk, in a single night; a canopy shaped with some forethought is the difference between a mess and a morning. Cuts are made where the tree can seal them, brush is hauled, and what is left standing looks like it grew that way on its own. That is the quiet reward here — a yard on a Salmon Falls hillside where the trees look untouched and are, in fact, thoroughly looked after.
