Summer Hauling

About Summer Hauling

First light on San Pablo Avenue, a truck bed empty and waiting — that is how a Summer Hauling day begins in El Cerrito. The work is the heavy end of yard care: overgrowth cut back, hedges reduced, dry-season brush and green waste loaded and gone by the time the fog lifts. A long rainless summer piles up more than people expect, and a yard cleared all at once feels twice its size. The crew mows and trims too, but the specialty is the transformation — the tangle in the side yard that becomes, in an afternoon, plain open ground. What gets hauled away matters less than what gets revealed.
