About Thorson's Outdoor Services

Toward the southern edge of town the streets tip down in the direction of Lemon Grove, block walls hot to the touch by noon and bougainvillea spilling over half of them. Thorson's Outdoor Services runs those neighborhoods as well — cutting lawns, edging the strip between sidewalk and street, taking hedges back to a line, sweeping up behind. Late spring is the growing push here: everything wants three feet of new growth before the dry sets in, and staying ahead of it takes a steady schedule. The satisfaction is in the contrast — trimmed and untrimmed, side by side on the same block. One of them is obviously being looked after.
