Yañez Lawn Maintenance & Landscaping

About Yañez Lawn Maintenance & Landscaping

In May the jacarandas along Downey's older streets let go all at once, and for a few weeks the gutters run purple. Yañez Lawn Maintenance & Landscaping is at work in that light — late afternoon, the mower on its last pass, an edge cut crisp against the sidewalk so the fallen blossoms have somewhere clean to land. Furman Park fills with soccer and birthday parties on evenings like those, and the yards ringing it look their part: mowed even, trimmed tight around the mailbox and the porch posts, cleared of whatever the season dropped. Lawn maintenance is unglamorous work and it is also the entire first impression of a house. Downey and its neighbors get it handled on a schedule, so nobody has to think about it twice.
