About Phil Gray Landscaping & Construction

Autumn arrives without much announcement in this part of the valley — the cottonwoods along Putah Creek go yellow, the light thins out, and the first rain finally puts the dust down on the county roads. Phil Gray Landscaping & Construction works Dixon yards through that turn, mowing while the grass still wants it, edging back the summer's creep, trimming and clearing leaves before they mat down. Fall cleanup here is less about volume than timing: catch it early and a lawn goes into the wet months open and even. Then the rains do their part, and by January those same yards are the deepest green they will be all year. Setting a lawn up for that is a good day's work.
