About Anchor Turf Company

Down at the small-boat basin near Baby Beach, halyards tap all afternoon and the water inside the breakwater stays glassy no matter what the open ocean is doing. Anchor Turf Company works the neighborhoods above that harbor, where midday sun sits hard on the grass and a lawn shows every shortcut. The work is straightforward and repeated well: even passes, a true line where turf meets concrete, feeding and weeding so the color holds through a dry Southern California stretch. Aeration in the right window, thatch pulled out, and the whole yard raked and blown before the truck door shuts. A lawn that sits calm and level under all that light is its own kind of moored.
