About Beto's Landscaping

On a Westlake Saturday the grey burns back around noon and the pastel rows come up bright, one after another down the block. That is when Beto's Landscaping is mid-route — mowing, string trimming along fence lines, edging the strip between sidewalk and curb, sweeping the walk clean before the truck moves on. Small front lawns in Daly City are seen by everybody: the mail carrier, the neighbors, the kids cutting through on the way to the corner. Getting one right means the cut is even, the corners are tight, and nothing is left on the concrete. It is ordinary work, and it changes how a whole street feels.
