Arteaga’s Garden Service

About Arteaga’s Garden Service

For a few weeks each late spring the jacarandas along Cypress's older residential blocks drop purple over everything — sidewalks, cars, the lawn you cut yesterday. Arteaga's Garden Service takes that in stride, because a garden here is never one task but a dozen small ones in sequence: mow, edge, trim the shrubs back off the windows, rake the blossoms up, cut the roses, haul the clippings away. Around Arnold Cypress Park the yards run generous and planted, the kind that need a hand that knows which branch to take and which to leave. The work is close-in and unhurried, done with clippers as often as with a mower. What stays behind at the end of a visit is a yard that looks tended rather than merely trimmed.
