About Virgilio Landscaping

In June the jacarandas over the bungalow streets near Carlson Park let go all at once, and for a couple of weeks purple settles across every lawn on the block. Virgilio Landscaping rakes it up and mows underneath, working early while Culver City is still cool and the sprinklers are ticking off one yard at a time. The rounds are steady: cut, edge, trim the hedges back off the walkway, weed the flower beds, keep the strip between sidewalk and street from going to seed. When the dry months settle in, the emphasis shifts to watering that actually reaches the roots and mowing high enough that the grass shades its own soil. Evening is the payoff, when someone comes off the 405, turns onto their street, and finds the front yard squared away without having to say a word about it.
