About Now We Mow

Seven in the evening, mid-July, and Covina finally lets the heat go; that's the hour when a mower sounds like relief instead of labor. Now We Mow takes those hours, running even passes across bermuda that has been baking since morning. The trimmer cleans up around the posts, the water meter, the base of the elm; the edger reopens the walk; the blower finishes the drive. None of it is complicated, and all of it shows. A lawn cut straight and finished out is the last good thing anybody sees before dark.
