The land tilts toward the river along Placentia Avenue, and the yards there sit on slopes and half-terraces that make every mow a little more of a decision. Inka Landscaping takes them on: mowing and edging on grade, cutting hedges and shrubs back to line, weeding beds, clearing the debris that gathers wherever a slope meets a fence. Costa Mesa's dry months harden this ground and the wet ones loosen it, and the work adjusts either way. There is craft in a hillside lawn cut evenly from top to bottom. From the street it just looks easy.
