Daniel’s Tree Service

About Daniel’s Tree Service

June mornings in Compton come in soft and grey, the marine layer holding over the flat streets and Compton Creek until nearly noon. Daniel's Tree Service is out under that ceiling, trimming the big ficus and carrotwood that shade the sidewalks, pruning palms and shade trees back to the roofline, removing what has plainly outgrown a small front yard. Over in the Richland Farms blocks, where horses still stand in back lots, the trees are older and taller and want a steadier hand on them. When a Santa Ana night leaves branches across a driveway, the crew clears them, sweeps the strip and moves along. A street that holds onto its canopy holds onto its cool.
