Golden Forest

About Golden Forest

Mornings in Comptche often begin under a soft gray lid, the coastal fog slipping inland over the ridges and pooling in the redwood hollows. Golden Forest does its lawn work in that hush, when droplets bead on every blade and the mower's path shows dark against the silver. Most days the fog draws back toward the sea by noon, and sunlight falls through the tall trunks in long, slanting bars. What remains is a clearing that sits easy among the redwoods, green and even and open to the sky. A twisting drive inland from the Mendocino headlands, it feels like a piece of gold set in the forest.
