Mountainscapes

About Mountainscapes

The name Mountainscapes is nearly a job description in Coarsegold, where half the yards come with their own granite outcrops and the land was landscaped by geology first. The work begins with what the hills already did: boulders left standing as the bones of a garden, native slopes worked with rather than against, plantings and lawn areas set where the ground actually welcomes them. In April, when lupine and poppies take the roadcuts and open meadows, the foothills show exactly what they want to look like — and a thoughtful design listens. Mowing, upkeep, and seasonal care then keep the finished landscape true through the dry months. What results does not look installed; it looks discovered.
