Approval

About Approval

Midday in Coachella flattens everything — the shade pulls in tight under the trees at Bagdouma Park, and the sprinklers throw a little weather of their own. Approval keeps lawns going through that, one yard at a time: mowing, edging, trimming along the walks, feeding the turf and staying after the weeds. The trick out here is patience and a cut height that lets the grass shade its own roots. Come evening, when Sixth Street cools and people drift back outside, the lawn is the part of the house that seems to look after itself. That is the whole idea.
