About Alex's Tree Services

Indio wakes early, because the Coachella Valley floor gives its heat back all night and the only cool hour is the one just before sunrise. That is when the ladder goes up against a date palm and the saw starts, while the Santa Rosa Mountains are still purple in the west. Alex's Tree Services works the valley's trees the way the date gardens taught everyone here to work them: trimming and pruning for shape and light, taking down what has finished its life, hauling the limbs out clean. After a wind comes through the pass and leaves a yard full of broken wood, the storm damage cleanup is the whole job -- rake, load, sweep, gone. What is left is shade you can stand under at four in the afternoon in July, and a driveway you would never guess had been buried.
