There is a stretch of April in Citrus Heights, out where the ballfields sit near C-Bar-C Park, when the grass grows an inch overnight and the whole town smells like it has just been cut. Velasquezlawncare lives in those weeks — mowers running early, edges pulled tight along the walks, trimming around every post and hydrant and mailbox until the yard has one continuous shape. Weed control and feeding go in while the ground is still taking water, and aeration opens the turf up before the dry months arrive. Later in the year the same route becomes cleanup work, clearing what the oaks and the wind leave behind.
