About Padilla Landscaping

Sunrise in the south of town comes up over the inland mountains, and a mockingbird usually starts before the trucks do. Padilla Landscaping is out in that hour — mowing, cutting an edge along drives and walkways, trimming hedges, weeding beds, and carrying the trimmings off before the heat sets in. Yards down here run from tight courtyard squares to long open back lots, and each one gets read before the first pass. The pleasure is in the change from before to after: shaggy to level, blurred to bordered, cluttered to swept. By the time the day turns bright the crew is a street away and the finished lawn is holding its line.
