Towne & Country Gardens

About Towne & Country Gardens

In the cottage lanes off Ocean Avenue, the pines drip fog onto stone walls and half-hidden gates, and behind nearly every gate is a garden somebody loves. Towne & Country Gardens does the tending — small lawns kept trim, hedges clipped to their lines, beds weeded and turned so the flowers get their say. Carmel rewards this kind of close work; the town was built at the scale of a garden, and it shows its care in details a passerby might only half notice. The crew moves through those details deliberately, shears and rake and barrow, leaving each yard a little more itself than they found it. They serve Carmel-by-the-Sea and the countryside around it, from Pacific Grove up the hill to Monterey.
