Tope's Tree Service

About Tope's Tree Service

After a Pacific storm has spent the night leaning on the point, morning in Carmel-by-the-Sea smells like wet cypress and salt, and something is always down. Tope's Tree Service starts those days at first light, clearing broken limbs off the lanes near Carmel Point, cutting up the pine that let go at the root, opening a driveway before the household has anywhere to be. On calmer weeks the work turns to trimming and pruning, thinning a crown so the next storm finds less to grab hold of. A tree that has to come out goes down in stages, lowered over a hedge that stays exactly as it was. The white sand and the old trees are what draws people to this village, and both are worth looking after.
