About Highland Designs INC

For two or three weeks in June the jacarandas along the Aviara side of Carlsbad drop purple all over the sidewalks, and every terraced yard on the ridge suddenly has a second color scheme it did not ask for. Highland Designs INC works those stepped lots — planting and shaping the beds that hold each level, keeping the turf panels between them cut square, edging where lawn meets wall. Elevation makes a yard visible from three directions at once, so the shaping has to be right from all of them. Sweep the petals, snap the lines, and the whole terrace reads clean again from the street below. Design and upkeep, in a part of town where everything is seen from an angle.
