About Mercado Gardening and Hauling

Cambria lives between a native Monterey pine forest and the cold blue Pacific, and its gardens grow in the fog line where both make themselves felt. Mercado Gardening and Hauling tends those gardens and lawns — mowing the small coastal yards, trimming hedges salted by onshore wind, and hauling away the green debris a pine town produces in quantity. Mornings are gray and gentle off Moonstone Beach; by afternoon the sun usually finds the East Village and lights the flower beds up. The work suits the town: unhurried, thorough, attentive to small spaces that mean a great deal to the people who keep them. A tidy Cambria yard, pines above and sea air through it, is its own reward.
