The Lawn Shavers

About The Lawn Shavers

A mower leaves a record of itself: parallel lines, the nap of the grass laid one way and then the other, a yard that suddenly has grain. The Lawn Shavers chases that — an even cut at the right height, edges shaved back sharp along the concrete, fence lines strung out with the trimmer, and the clippings cleared off. On a Saturday afternoon on a Burbank side street, sprinklers ticking somewhere and the mountains hazy to the northeast, the fresh-cut strip out front is genuinely worth standing and looking at. Height moves with the heat, and the direction changes each visit so the grass never learns to lean. Small choices, visible on the ground.
