About Alvarez lawn and landscape

Down in the Rancho the morning still smells of hay and wet sidewalk, and hoofprints cross the trail before most of Burbank has poured coffee. Alvarez lawn and landscape works these blocks between the equestrian lanes and the Los Angeles River, where a lawn has to hold its own against dust, sun and the occasional horse. Mowing, edging, trimming and cleanup are the whole vocabulary here, repeated until a yard reads calm from the sidewalk. By the time the Verdugos catch full light, the clippings are bagged and the walk is blown back to bare concrete. It is ordinary work, done attentively, and it shows in the line where grass meets pavement.
