About As Good As Gold Landscaping

By August the ridge above Berkeley has gone the color of dry oat straw, and a mown lawn down in the neighborhoods reads like a small green argument against the whole hillside. As Good As Gold Landscaping keeps those yards in trim through the long rainless stretch, cutting a little higher when the heat settles in and clearing the beds of whatever the wind brings down. The work is unhurried — a mower pass, a trimmer run along the fence line, hedges shaped back off the walkway. Afternoons here belong to the fog, which comes over the hills around five and cools everything it touches, and a yard finished before then holds its shape into the evening. There is real satisfaction in the last look back: an even lawn corner to corner, the walk swept, nothing left behind.
