About True green landscaping

For a few weeks after the winter rains the hills around Banning turn a green they hold nowhere else in the year, and then they quietly let it go. True green landscaping spends the rest of the calendar keeping that color where people actually live — mowing, edging, feeding and weeding the lawns of town so a yard outlasts the hillside behind it. It takes attention: water at the right hour, cut high through the heat, keep the clippings moving so the turf can breathe. Come July, a deep-green front lawn against tan slopes is a small act of stubbornness, and it is earned one week at a time. Banning, Beaumont, Cherry Valley and Calimesa are all on the map.
