About Santa Cruz Gardening

North of Bakersfield the fields around Wasco come into color in May, and for a stretch the flatland is laid out in bands of red and pink that you can see from the highway. Santa Cruz Gardening brings that gardener's eye down to the scale of a front yard — mowing and edging kept regular, shrubs and hedges shaped, the borders kept clean where the lawn meets the bed. Trimming handles the awkward ground around posts, walls and tree trunks, and the clippings go with the crew. Feeding and weed control run through the season so the grass stays even instead of streaked. Beauty at that scale is mostly attention, repeated.
