About Penney Lawn Services

Across the river the Oildale streets run straight and plain, and at the end of some of them a derrick stands against the evening sky like it has always been there. Penney Lawn Services works those yards and the Bakersfield blocks on the near side of the Kern — mowing, edging, trimming, and a real clearing of the walk when the cutting is done. Late summer is the test here, when the grass wants water it isn't getting and the weeds want the thin patches; steady feeding and early weed work keep the lawn ahead of both. Hedges are held to shape so they don't swallow the front window. It is not complicated work, but doing it on time, every time, is what makes the difference at the curb.
