About Emmanuels Gardening & Tree Service

In a Bakersfield July the only reasonable hours come before six, when the cottonwoods along the Kern still hold a little of the night. Emmanuels Gardening & Tree Service takes those hours — pruning ash and mulberry back off the rooflines, thinning crowns so the hot wind moves through, removing trees that heat and long dry spells have finished off. Shade is the local currency and a bad cut spends it fast, so every limb comes off where the tree can close over the wound. Valley storms arrive in a hurry and leave wood across the driveway; the cleanup is heavy pieces bucked down, brush through the chipper, concrete swept bare. Come August, a yard that is still livable is the whole argument for the work.
