About Andre

June mornings in Azusa come in grey — the marine layer pushes up from the basin and hangs over Foothill Boulevard until ten or so, and everything is soft-edged and cool. Andre likes that window for lawn work: the turf is forgiving, the trimmer doesn't kick dust, and the fence lines come out crisp. When the overcast finally lifts and the foothills go sharp and bright above the rooftops, the yard is already mowed and swept. It's ordinary work, done carefully, week after week on the same streets. A tidy lawn is a small promise kept to a whole block.
