Wentzel Landscape

About Wentzel Landscape

October is when Atascadero lets go: the live oaks drop a small brittle rain of leaves for weeks, the light over the Sunken Gardens turns long and amber by five, and every lawn in town needs somebody with a rake and a plan. Wentzel Landscape keeps that rhythm — mowing, edging, cutting hedges and shrubs back into shape, and clearing the leaf litter off grass before it mats down and smothers it. There is a particular reward in the last hour of a fall afternoon, standing at the curb with the beds crisp, the walks swept, the pile loaded, and the whole yard looking like it has been thought about. The seasons here are subtle, but a lawn tells on you fast, and keeping one honest through the dry months and the wet ones is steady, careful work. Atascadero, Templeton and Santa Margarita get it on the same regular schedule.
