Tommy's Handy Services

About Tommy's Handy Services

There is a particular kind of Atascadero yard: a Colony half-acre on a street that climbs, part lawn, part slope, part whatever the last owner started and did not finish. Tommy's Handy Services takes those on the way a neighbor would — mow the flat, trim the awkward bit by the retaining wall, cut the hedge back off the walk, sweep the drive, load the pile. Late afternoon is the good hour for it, when the shadow of a big oak finally reaches across the grass and the heat comes off El Camino Real in a last slow wave. Nothing here is complicated; it is simply a list, and the pleasure is in coming to the end of it with the yard looking like somebody lives there on purpose. From Atascadero out toward Templeton and Creston, that is the whole offer, and it holds up week after week.
