Genevieve Schmidt Landscape Design and Fine Garden Maintenance

About Genevieve Schmidt Landscape Design and Fine Garden Maintenance

By October the big-leaf maples above Redwood Park turn yellow all at once, and the duff underfoot smells like rain that hasn't arrived yet. Genevieve Schmidt Landscape Design and Fine Garden Maintenance works at the scale of the single plant: the shrub thinned rather than sheared, the perennial cut back in the right week, the mulch line detailed until it reads as a drawn edge. Design sets the bones of a garden; the fine maintenance is what keeps those bones from vanishing under three years of growth. A yard can be made tidy for a day, but a garden held in tune across a whole year is a different result altogether. Arcata, Bayside, McKinleyville and the streets between.
