About Eureka Earthworks

South of Eureka the land lifts toward Table Bluff and the wind arrives straight off the ocean with nothing to slow it down, combing the pasture grass all one direction. Eureka Earthworks likes the big open pieces out that way — mowing wide lawns and grassed lots down to an even plane, cutting back the tall growth along fence rows and gate posts, and clearing the brush that creeps in from the margins. Around the houses they tighten it up: edged drives, trimmed borders, debris raked out and carted off. It is work you can measure by looking back at it from the far end. When the ocean light comes low across a field that has just been cut, the whole property reads as cared for.
