Alpine Landscape Materials

About Alpine Landscape Materials

The ground in Alpine announces itself before anything else — pale decomposed granite, glittering faintly, shed from boulders older than any road up the mountain. Alpine Landscape Materials begins with that ground, tending lawns and yards that have learned to make peace with rock and dry air. Spring is the sweetest stretch here, after a few generous rains soften the slopes and grass comes up eager along the side streets off Alpine Boulevard. Each visit — the mowing, the edging, the clearing away — leaves a yard looking like it belongs to the country around it. From Alpine out through Blossom Valley toward Lakeside, this is work that helps green things hold their own in a land that mostly favors chaparral.
