Johan's Gardening Service

About Johan's Gardening Service

Codornices Creek slips along Albany's southern edge, and when the winter rains raise it you can hear the whole town growing. Johan's Gardening Service works those wet months hardest — mowing fast-rising lawns, clearing beds of storm litter, pruning before buds break — then eases into the long dry summer of tidy borders and watchful watering lines. The gardens here are pocket-sized and full of intention, herbs by the porch and a plum tree over the fence, and the job is honoring what each one is trying to be. The best sign of a good visit is a garden that looks lovelier, not just shorter. Berkeley's border is a block away, and the work crosses it often.
