Putting Green

About Putting Green

Evening light slides down the Colorado at Yuma Crossing, where the old Ocean to Ocean Bridge spans the river and the water runs green between the willows. Putting Green brings lawn care to this river town, with mowing, trimming and edging aimed at the even, close finish its name suggests. Grass here races ahead wherever water reaches it, and holding a lawn level with its borders crisp takes a patient hand and regular visits. Sidewalk lines are traced clean and clippings cleared, so the yard looks finished rather than merely cut. As the heat lets go after sundown, a trim lawn becomes the coolest-looking spot on the block.
