Whetstone sits where the grassland tips down toward the San Pedro, with the Whetstone Mountains standing off to the north and the Huachucas holding the southern sky. When the monsoon arrives in July the whole country flips green in about a week, and that is when Outlawz Landscaping runs hardest: mowing growth that came up overnight, trimming along fence line and gravel, edging drives back to a straight line. At this elevation the mornings stay cool enough to work properly, and by afternoon the thunderheads take over the watering. The satisfaction is in the contrast, a cut and level lawn framed by mesquite and a lot of open country. Nothing fussy about it, just a yard that looks intentional against all that horizon.
