Outdoor Works

About Outdoor Works

From the flats west of Valencia West you can watch small planes lift out of Ryan Field and bank toward Baboquivari, that dark blue tooth of a peak standing alone on the horizon. Outdoor Works spends its days under the same wide sky — mowing, edging, string trimming, shrub and hedge trimming, cleanups that empty the beds and the rock of everything the wind delivered, and hauling the load away. April is a fine month for it: the ocotillos tip themselves red, the days run long without punishing anybody, and grass answers a good cut within hours. The name says plainly what it is. So does the yard afterward.
