April in Casas Adobes is yellow: the palo verdes off Ina Road bloom all at once and lay a fine gold dust over every sidewalk, car and lawn on the northwest side. McBride Landscaping handles the whole of it — mowing, edging, trimming, blowing walks and drives clear, shrub pruning, and the spring cleanup that follows once the bloom lets go. For a week or two it is pure pursuit of pollen and petals, and then the yards come out clean and the season properly begins. Working in that light is a pleasure even when the broom never quite catches up. A driveway cleared under a blooming tree is temporary and worth doing anyway.
