About Bucksworth Services

The Rillito runs dry most of the year — a wide sand road with cottonwoods standing along its banks like they know something the rest of us don't. Bucksworth Services works the blocks on either side of it, mowing, edging, shaping hedges back to their intended size, and clearing the leaves in December when the trees finally let go. Winter is the green season in this valley: overseeded rye comes up bright while everything else turns tan, and it wants cutting when nothing else does. The mornings are cold enough for a jacket and warm by ten, which makes a fine window for work. Yards from the river path to midtown, kept so nobody living in them has to think about it.
